This Privacy Policy explains how Inquire Lands LLC ("Inquire Lands," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our platform. By using the platform you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Service.
Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see or store your plain-text password).
Activity on the platform. We collect the content you submit and actions you take, including property claims, inquiries you send and receive, messages and attachments included with inquiries, reports you file, and your interest registrations for upcoming features.
Attestations and acknowledgments. When you claim a parcel or acknowledge our disclaimers, we record the acknowledgment along with its version, a timestamp, and your browser's user-agent string. These records help protect all users against false claims.
Technical information. Like most services, our infrastructure providers log standard technical data such as IP addresses and request metadata. We use browser storage (localStorage) to keep you signed in, and privacy-focused product analytics (PostHog) to understand how the platform is used in aggregate; we do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Payment information. If you subscribe to Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we receive only a customer reference, subscription status, and the last four digits of your card.
Public parcel data. Parcel boundaries, ownership names, and property attributes displayed on the platform come from publicly available county and government records. This data exists in the public record independently of our platform.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
With other users, as the product requires. When you send an inquiry, its content (including your name and any message or attachment) is shared with the property's claimant. When you claim a property, inquirers may see that the property is claimed.
With service providers that host and operate the platform on our behalf — including database and authentication hosting (Supabase), website hosting (Netlify), transactional email delivery (Resend), payment processing (Stripe), product analytics (PostHog), geocoding, and map services. These providers process data only as needed to provide their services.
For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Inquire Lands, our users, or the public — including in connection with fraudulent ownership claims.
In a business transfer. If Inquire Lands is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
We retain account information while your account is active. Attestation and acknowledgment records are retained as evidentiary records even after related listings are removed, for as long as reasonably necessary for legal protection. Reports are retained while under review and for a reasonable period after resolution.
To exercise any of these rights, contact clayton@inquirelands.com. Note that information in the public county record is outside our control and remains public regardless of your account status.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed password storage, and database-level access controls that restrict who can read sensitive records. No system is perfectly secure, and you use the platform at your own risk; please use a strong, unique password.
The platform is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version, and material changes may be communicated through the platform or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
